Alex Hammerstone Almost Walked Away, Has A Chance To Show The World Who He Is

This weekend is going to be very exciting for wrestling fans. Saturday is the New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Battle in the Valley pay-per-view. Following that, on the very next day, TNA Wrestling returns and its era kicks off with the Hard To Kill pay-per-view. One of the matches on Sunday is the one-on-one match between Josh Alexander and Alex Hammerstone.

With less than 72 hours to go for his TNA Hard To Kill debut, Hammerstone shared a message on his Twitter. Alex Hammerstone mentioned that he is looking forward to his match and had nothing but positive words for his opponent. He also thanked Josh Alexander for making him stronger every day. The former MLW wrestler also is very eager to show the world what he is capable of doing.

“Sitting in a puddle of my own sweat…. Again. @IMPACTWRESTLING @Walkin_Weapon g,” Alex Hammerstone tweeted.

“Dear Josh Alexander, Thank you. Thank you for lighting the fire in me stronger than I even knew possible. You have been one of my favorite wrestlers for a long time. A guy I respected because of your hard work. That’s why I have worked harder in preparation for this match than possibly anything ever in my life. I’ve given every ounce of myself to this business for over a decade. I have felt lost, broken, depressed and everything in between. But right now I have a shot to show the world exactly who Hammerstone is… And after almost walking away from this business several times over the years I now get to prove that I am HARD TO KILL,” Alex Hammerstone posted.

Alex Hammerstone was a free agent at the start of 2024

As 2024 was born, the former MLW wrestler also became a free agent. This was the first time he was a free agent in nearly half a decade. Hammerstone shared what he’s expecting in 2024. He also mentioned that he has been successful in his previous promotion and is looking to grow stronger.

“Well, here we are. I’m officially a free agent for the first time in five years,” Hammerstone said. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to give you some speech about how I was stuck or trapped or locked away in some prison, the kind of stuff that guys say when they weren’t able to get over somewhere. Because I did. I did get over, I did succeed. I became a world champion.

“But there’s one thing that I would hear every once in a while and would bother me. And maybe there is a grain of truth to it. That I was a big fish in a small pond. Well, now I’m allowed to walk through whatever door that I want to. Well, except the ones that are nailed shut in a desperate attempt to keep me out, because they’re worried what will happen if I get through them.”

Where is Alex Hammerstone heading next?

As mentioned earlier, Hammerstone is set to make wrestle at TNA Hard To Kill. But he has not yet given any information if he’s officially signed with the promotion.

“And everyone wants to know. All the fans want to know where I’m going, all the podcasters want an interview. All the dirt sheets want a comment. But I’m not looking for an opportunity. I am giving an opportunity. Because I have been one of the best in the world for years now, so I want to face the very best in the world. So this is my open challenge to anyone out there. Because I was never a big fish in a small pond. I have always been a shark. Now, I’m in open waters, and it’s hunting season,” Alex Hammerstone said.
