Skye Blue Was ‘Super Excited’ About Turning Heel In AEW

Skye Blue says she was excited about her heel turn.

Skye Blue had been a fan-favorite since she debuted in AEW. But in recent months, she has turned heel as she has aligned with TBS Champion Julia Hart.

Speaking on Talk Is Jericho, Skye Blue was asked about her storyline with the House of Black, which included her heel turn.

“I did not expect it at all,” Skye Blue said. “I remember me and Willow were talking about wanting to tag and just be a women’s tag team and trying to make a tag division because there’s not a lot of women’s tags here yet. So we were like, oh, we could do that, and then they presented the idea. They’re like, ‘Hey, you’re gonna get misted.’

“I was like, ‘Does that mean I get to be spooky?’ They’re like, ‘Yeah. Have you ever been a heel?’ I was always wanted to be a heel on the indies, but everyone was like, ‘No, you’re too much of a cutesy little babyface.’ Come on guys, I can be mean.”

Skye Blue Wants To Challenger Herself

Skye Blue continued by describing how she wanted to turn heel, as she aims to challenge herself and learn every aspect of the business. With that in mind, she stated that she was excited for the opportunity.

“Then when they said, ‘Yeah, we’re gonna eventually [have you turn heel],’ I was like, ‘Let’s do it.’ I was so excited,” Skye Blue said. “There would be days where they would not know, like maybe, maybe not. I’m just like, please? I want to challenge myself, I want to learn how to be a heel. I want to learn every aspect of wrestling and I want to do as much of it as I can, so I was super excited.”
