Two teams have advanced in the 2024 NXT Dusty Rhodes Team Classic.
During the January 9 episode of WWE NXT, two first-round matches took place as the unlikely team of Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin advanced by defeating former NXT Tag Team Champions Gallus. The finish saw Breakker go for a spear when Corbin tagged himself in to hit Mark Coffey with End of Days to score the victory.
Later on, Nathan Frazer and Axiom battled Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. In the end, Frazer pinned Walker following a Phoenix Splash to secure their spot in the second round.
As a result, Breakker and Corbin will now face Frazer and Axiom to determine who goes to the finals, while the other two first-round matches include Duke Hudson & Riley Osborne vs. LWO, plus Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams vs. Edris Enofe & Malik Blade.
