Rey Mysterio hopes to be back in time for the Royal Rumble.
WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio last wrestled at WWE Crown Jewel on November 5. There, he lost the WWE United States Championship to Logan Paul. He has been covering from knee surgery; he announced that he had the procedure on November 14. Haus of Wrestling previously reported that Mysterio was set to miss six to eight weeks, as he had been dealing with a torn meniscus.
During an appearance on Baker Banter, Rey Mysterio was asked about possibly returning at WWE Royal Rumble. He noted that he was hopeful he would be able to do so. Mysterio stated that he wanted to make his return as soon as possible. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)
“I’m really working hard on my physical therapy,” Rey Mysterio said. “I just had knee surgery, thanks to Santos Escobar, and his time will come eventually. I do hope that I can return for the Rumble, if not shortly after that. I am working very hard to make my return as soon as possible.”
