Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara will get their AEW Tag Team Championship match at AEW’s Battle of the Belts IX.
During tonight’s episode of AEW Collision, Big Bill issued a challenge to Jericho and Guevara, to meet them in a Street Fight at Battle of the Belts IX. Jericho was owed the match due to having beaten The Young Bucks with Kenny Omega at AEW Full Gear.
However, due to Omega being diagnosed with diverticulitis and being unable to compete, Jericho was forced to find a new partner. He and Sammy Guevara then came together and made up ahead of AEW Worlds End, and following Guevara’s win over Starks at the pay-per-view, Jericho said the two could make a run for the titles.
