Kota Ibushi announces that he will be getting surgery.
Ibushi was sent to the hospital after his match at NOAH The New Year on January 2. There, he faced Naomichi Marufuji. Sports Hochi in Japan reported that Ibushi was taken to the hospital due to what were believed to be injuries to his ankles. He attempted to wrestle through an injury, and he could not stand after the match.
Ibushi took to Twitter on January 5 and announced that he would be having surgery on the right ligament in his ankle. He wrote that the inside of his left ankle was “a mess”, and he said he was sorry.
In another post, Ibushi wrote that he had the goal of being able to do it for 20 years, and it was time for him to be active. He stated that he had a lot of things left that he wanted to accomplish.
Kota Ibushi recently apologized for his performance at NOAH The New Year. Check out his comments here.
