Multiple noteworthy names are reportedly in town for the “New Year’s Revolution” edition of WWE SmackDown on January 5.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Gable Steveson is in town ahead of the show. There is no word on whether he will be used on the show. Johnson also wrote that Paul Ellering was spotted in Vancouver, and the expectation is that he will return on SmackDown with The Authors of Pain. The trio would be part of an alliance with Karrion Kross and Scarlett. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) confirmed the reports about Steveson and Ellering and AOP.
Additionally, Johnson reported that either Sheamus or Tyler Bate is expected to be Butch’s mystery partner. Butch is set to face Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson).
Johnson and Sapp previously reported that Ellering and AOP were set to return and join WWE SmackDown.
