Former IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Deonna Purrazzo has had talks with AEW, according to a new report.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that there have been internal discussions in AEW with Purrazzo directly. Per Sapp, AEW is hopeful they can bring her in. The report also notes that AEW was Purrazzo’s preferred landing spot when she was finishing up with IMPACT.
Additionally, Sapp writes that Deonna Purrazzo had contact with WWE. However, company sources indicated that most of WWE’s free agent discussions had been “tabled” until the beginning of the new year.
In 2022, Purrazzo made her AEW debut when she faced Mercedes Martinez on the May 4 episode of AEW Dynamite. There, Martinez beat her to win the ROH Women’s World Championship.
Purrazzo is a three-time IMPACT Knockouts Champion and a former Knockouts Tag Team Champion. She had been with the company since 2020.
In a recent interview, Deonna Purrazzo stated that she had great talks across the board ahead of free agency. Check out her comments here.
