Alex Hammerstone On Free Agency: I’m Not Looking For An Opportunity, I’m Giving One

Alex Hammerstone is officially a free agent.

As of January 1, Hammerstone is no longer under contract to Major League Wrestling. In wake of hitting the free agent market, Hammerstone took to social media on Tuesday, January 2, to cut a promo on what’s next for him.

“Well, here we are. I’m officially a free agent for the first time in five years,” Hammerstone said. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to give you some speech about how I was stuck or trapped or locked away in some prison, the kind of stuff that guys say when they weren’t able to get over somewhere. Because I did. I did get over. I did succeed. I became a world champion.

“But there’s one thing that I would hear every once in a while and would bother me. And maybe there is a grain of truth to it. That I was a big fish in a small pond. Well, now I’m allowed to walk through whatever door that I want to. Well, except the ones that are nailed shut in a desperate attempt to keep me out, because they’re worried what will happen if I get through them.

“And everyone wants to know. All the fans want to know where I’m going. All the podcasters want an interview. All the dirt sheets want a comment. But I’m not looking for an opportunity. I am giving an opportunity. Because I have been one of the best in the world for years now, so I want to face the very best in the world. So this is my open challenge to anyone out there. Because I was never a big fish in a small pond. I have always been a shark. Now, I’m in open waters, and it’s hunting season.”

Hammerstone is a one-time MLW World Heavyweight Champion and a one-time MLW National Openweight Champion. He had been with the company since 2019.
