Lena Kross On Being A Part Of Cassie Lee’s In-Ring Return: It Was Special

Lena Kross looks back on her tag team match against Cassie Lee.

Nine months after giving birth to a baby boy, Cassie Lee (formerly known to WWE fans as Peyton Royce) made her return to the wrestling ring at World Series Wrestling’s “Full Throttle” tour in October. Before winning the WSW Women’s Championship on October 7, Lee’s official return match took place one day prior. There, she and Harley Cameron defeated Lena Kross and Jessica Troy in tag team action. WrestleZone’s Ella Jay recently spoke with Kross about being a part of Cassie Lee’s comeback.

“It was special,” Kross said. “She was obviously quite nervous to get back in [the ring]. Being able to be a part of that for her is obviously a special moment, especially with what she’s done for the Australian scene and particularly women in Australia. She’s one of the leaders that has left and gone [on to great success]. She’s paved this road that has allowed other wrestlers in Australia to venture out and go ‘Okay. That’s what we can do as well.’ So, it definitely was special to be a part of that moment for her.”

In addition to being one of Lee’s first opponents back, the Full Throttle tour also marked Kross’ first time teaming with Jessica Troy, who currently holds the PWA Heavyweight Championship.

“I actually don’t think Jess and I have ever tagged [before that]. We’ve had some singles [matches]. She’s incredible and so talented, so it’s always fun being in the ring with her, and tagging along her was even more fun. That first tag was special, for sure,” Kross said.
