Sami Zayn is returning to the ring after a brief absence.
Sami Zayn last wrestled on the December 4 episode of WWE RAW, where he lost to Drew McIntyre. McIntyre then attacked Zayn backstage, and WWE subsequently announced that Zayn had partially torn his meniscus. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer previously reported that Zayn had requested some time off. Meltzer noted that Zayn had not been scheduled for the December 28 live event.
In a tweet on December 26, Sami Zayn stated that he would be performing on WWE’s Holiday tour, and he listed the dates in New York City, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, and Los Angeles. Zayn stated that the tour would end “the wildest year” of his career.
Zayn followed up the post with another tweet in which he noted that it has been a “crazy and in some ways difficult time” for him. He stated that he was so grateful to be in great cities with great fans to end a remarkable year. Zayn expressed that he was very happy to be here with the fans.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
