Another longtime AEW Executive is expected to be departing the company shortly.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), Rafael Morffi is expected to depart All Elite Wrestling at the end of the year.
Morffi has been a longtime employee of the company working as AEW’s Vice President of Live Events and Touring.
Sapp states that Morffi has been teasing new opportunities in recent weeks and will be pursuing other interests in 2024. That makes it sound like he’ll be departing the wrestling industry as a whole, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
UPDATE: In an additional update from Fightful Select, Morffi will be doing work with the Barclays Center in 2024. Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that it’s a senior executive position.
Before working for AEW, Morffi previously worked for WWE and was the Senior Director of Live Events at TNA Wrestling.
This reported departure comes hot off the heels of another longtime employee Kevin Sullivan being released from the company a few weeks back.
