Xavier Woods is currently sidelined, but he is tentatively set to return sooner rather than later.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that Xavier Woods was taken off the road. The report stated that Woods was banged up, so he was taken off the road to heal.
In an update, Johnson reports that, per WWE sources, they expect Woods to be back on the road in the first two weeks of January. Johnson noted that the sources indicated this is the tentative plan.
Woods has not wrestled since he competed in a Tag Team Turmoil match on the November 27 episode of WWE RAW. He was notably absent from the December 18 episode. There Kofi Kingston dressed up as Santa Claus and appeared throughout the show.
Big E Wants To See Xavier Woods Win World Title
Xavier Woods’ New Day stablemate Big E previously stated that he wants to see him win a world title. Speaking with Steve Fall for Ten Count Media, Big E commented on the possibility.
“That’s something that, obviously, he’s so talented and something that we’ve been pushing for. He is a guy who, people know how talented he is, but I still feel like in many ways he’s one of the most underrated guys on the roster,” Big E said. “He’s still so incredible and so worthy and deserving. I always want the best things for both of partners.
“I’d love to see him get a real run at a singles title. I know he’s been talking about the IC Title as of late, and going from there. I’d love to see him be a World Champion. He’s deserving.”
WrestleZone will provide more information about Woods’ status as it becomes available.
