A new report provides an update on Giulia.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider previously reported that WWE was interested in NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Giulia. Johnson wrote that WWE was attempting to court her, and the company hoped to sign her. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that AEW had indicated their interest in using her to STARDOM. A subsequent report from Sapp noted that WWE viewed Giulia was a “priority acquisition.”
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that AEW has never made a serious play for the STARDOM star. He noted that she has not had conversations with the company, and she is not considering them. Meltzer wrote that, as far as her future, it’s either WWE or staying in Japan.
Per Meltzer, Giulia remains under contract with STARDOM/NJPW until March. She won the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship at NJPW Independence Day on July 5, and she is also one-third of the reigning Artist of Stardom Champions.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
