With IMPACT Wrestling set to rebrand itself in 2024 back to TNA Wrestling, there are a lot of changes that are taking place. One such change is that the promotion will be having a brand new ring announcer who will be working full-time. It is none other than Jade Chung.
Longtime ring announcer David Penzer is leaving the company, and his replacement has been named. Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert and Joel Pearl revealed that Chung will be replacing Penzer to be the full-time ring announcer for TNA Wrestling. She signed an official contract earlier this month. TNA Wrestling also released a statement revealing the same.
“As revealed by Joel Pearl and Jeremy Lambert of In The Weeds on Fightful Overbooked, Chung has signed a contract with TNA Wrestling to be the new full-time ring announcer. Hear her introduce the larger-than-life athletes of TNA when the new era begins at Hard To Kill on January 13th, 2024,” TNA Wrestling said.
Following this announcement, Jennifer “Jade” Chung took to Twitter to share pictures with the legendary David Penzer who handed over the TNA Wrestling microphone to her. Chung claimed it was an honor and she also referred to Penzer hand the microphone over to her as a ‘Passing of a Torch’ moment.
“What an HONOR! WCW/TNA legend passing the torch to me?! ? Thank you for all your help. I’ve got massive shoes to fill but there will never be another @davidpenzer ?? The new era of TNA Wrestling arrives on January 13th with Hard To Kill ??TNAWrestling.com,” Jade Chung tweeted.
IMPACT Wrestling will officially rebrand itself as TNA Wrestling on the 13th of January. The first event that will take place under the TNA Wrestling banner will be the Hard To Kill pay-per-view.
