Lio Rush comments on potentially returning to WWE.
Lio Rush previously signed with the company in 2017. After initially competing on NXT and 205 Live, he had a run on RAW as Bobby Lashley’s manager. Rush later returned to NXT and won the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. WWE released Rush in a wave of cuts in April 2020. Since then, amid battling injuries and taking some time away, Rush has competed for AEW, IMPACT, NJPW, and other promotions.
Speaking with MuscleManMalcolm, Lio Rush was asked whether there could be an opportunity for him to try to return to WWE.
“I definitely don’t rule it out. I love seeing questions like that now these days because wrestling is at such an exciting point, an unpredictable point where you really don’t know what’s gonna happen,” Lio Rush said. “You don’t know who’s gonna show up where and what the outcome of things are gonna be. So I don’t definitely rule out a possible WWE return. Wrestling, it changes so fast. It is very intense. It’s exciting.
“If it’s exciting for the wrestlers, I can only imagine how exciting it is to be a fan of professional wrestling. You don’t know who’s gonna show up, when they’re gonna show up, and how they’re gonna show up. So I wouldn’t rule out a WWE return at all.”
Rush has been out of action since October due to an illness, but he is returning to the ring in January. He has been announced for multiple GCW shows.
Rush recently named Roman Reigns and CM Punk as some of his dream matches for 2024.
