MJF hopes CM Punk is happy.
Jimmy Traina spoke with MJF on the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast. Traina asked MJF about CM Punk’s return to WWE, which resulted from being fired by AEW. The “Salt of the Earth” said he loved working with Punk and wished him well.
“One of the greatest feuds — I’ll just say this, the greatest feud of the modern era, me versus CM Punk, I think,” he said. “And that happened on AEW television.”
Luck is for losers
Was he sad that CM Punk and AEW didn’t work out?
“No, I was happy for him. Listen, if he’s happy, I’m happy. I think he’s a hell of a talent and at the end of the day, it’s a business. For some reason with wrestling, it’s looked at differently than any other sport. I see guys traded to different teams all of the time. That’s just life,” MJF explained. “So he did what he felt was best for him, and [AEW] did what they felt was best for the company. I just hope he’s happy, I wish him the best of luck.”
