Kenny Omega is out of action indefinitely, and a new report provides an update on the situation.
On December 15, Kenny Omega announced that he was out indefinitely. He noted that the pain had become too much, and he shared a picture of himself in a hospital bed. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful then reported that Omega was diagnosed with diverticulitis.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the situation. (H/t Ian Carey of F4WOnline.com) He noted that Omega was in a lot of pain before he was rushed to the hospital. Meltzer stated that he did not hear whether Omega had surgery yet. He described how Omega had been hurting “really, really bad”, and he had thought it was a hernia. Omega kept training and working, and the pain got so bad that he went to the hospital.
Additionally, Meltzer stated that the situation was very bad in the sense that, had Omega waited much longer to go to the hospital, it could have been “horrendous.”
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) later reported that Omega sought medical care after Dynamite, and he was hospitalized per doctor’s doctors on Thursday. Per Sapp, there is no timetable for Omega to return, but he has likely been removed from immediate plans.
As of this writing, there is no timetable for Omega’s return. WrestleZone wishes him well in his recovery, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
