People in AEW are reportedly pushing for the company to sign Nic Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler.
WWE released former world champion Dolph Ziggler in a wave of cuts on September 21. Nemeth recently announced that he will return to the ring at WWC Euphoria on January 20.
WrestlePurists reports that, per sources in AEW, many in the company have been pushing for AEW to sign him. The report notes that there have been multiple creative pitches for Nemeth; one of them would see him become one of CJ Perry’s clients.
WrestlePurists notes that there is no word on any negotiations or talks between the two sides, as Nemeth is still under his non-complete clause. As of this writing, the pitches are simply backstage talk.
In a November edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Nemeth was expected to sign with AEW.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
