KUSHIDA Reveals Why He Decided To Sign With TNA Wrestling, Addresses Status With New Japan

KUSHIDA will have the best of both worlds when it comes to his professional wrestling career in 2024.

TNA Wrestling’s KUSHIDA was a recent guest on the Battleground Podcast. When asked why he decided to sign with the company, KUSHIDA credited his friends Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin for helping him come to this decision.

“Okay, one of the reasons I chose TNA is because of my good friends, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin,” KUSHIDA revealed. “Yeah, these two people have influenced my life. I always believed my work was close to these two people. So Sabin, Shelley, ‘Shida all signed to the same company. I can’t believe it.

“I’m so excited for next year. I believe I need to win the TNA title in 2024 to further advance my career. Yeah, I want to become World Champion, X-Division Champion, and break down the borders that exist in this world.”

KUSHIDA revealed in the same interview that he will remain with New Japan Pro-Wrestling in 2024 and will be allowed to continue working for both companies.

“I want to say my contract status is okay,” KUSHIDA said. “This time, the contract status of the relationship between me and New Japan Pro-Wrestling can remain. There is no need [to] change. So, I also signed with TNA. I would like to thank Scott D’Amore and Mr. Sugabayashi.”
