Braun Strowman Reacts To Potential Matches Against CM Punk And Rhea Ripley

Braun Strowman shares his reaction to some potential dream matches.

Former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman recently appeared on Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge, where he was asked to provide his response to potential opponents suggested to him by the WWE Universe. Ideas that were offered up included the likes of CM Punk, GUNTHER, The Undertaker, Rhea Ripley, and Strowman’s former tag team partner Nicholas.

In contemplating a possible match against CM Punk, Strowman revealed that he’d have no problem tangling up with “The Best in the World.”

“Punk’s fresh back to WWE after a ten-year hiatus. He’s causing a ruckus in the ratings. At the end of the day, whatever is good for business is good for me. Because at the end of the day, the company is making money, which means I’m making money. That’s what we’re all here to do. This is a job. At the end of the day, this is our job to go out there,” Strowman said. “If that means going out there and whipping CM Punk’s ass, then I’m going to go out there and whip his ass.”

GUNTHER

Earlier this year, Braun Strowman challenged GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship on the January 13 episode of WWE SmackDown. While Strowman went on to lose this affair, he welcomes the opportunity to run it back once more with “The Ring General.”

“Let’s do it again. I had an awesome one with him earlier this year. January it was. [GUNTHER is] another guy that’s been able to push me to my limits and been one of four, maybe five humans that have ever put my shoulders to the mat for three. He got lucky, [and] caught me with that powerbomb off the top rope. I’d love to run that one back. GUNTHER’s IC reign right now is one for the ages. What he’s doing for that title and elevating that title is unbelievable, and whoever takes it off of him is going to be cemented in history for what he’s done with it.”

The Undertaker

Regarding a potential match against “The Deadman,” Strowman noted that the two had previously faced off in tag team competition. They even teamed together on one occasion. However, Strowman is still eager to have at least one singles match with The Undertaker.

“He says he’s retired, but man, every time I see him he keeps getting better and better shape,” Strowman said. “But at the end of the day, Undertaker, he’s my wrestling grandfather. I’ve been so fortunate for the time that I’ve had with him in this business. When I first came in, my 11th wrestling match I ever had was Luke Harper and myself versus the Brothers of Destruction in front of 20,000 people in Mexico. So for a kid growing up watching Undertaker, getting to be underneath his learning tree, having a singles match with him, who doesn’t want a singles match with Undertaker?”

Strowman was also asked about a hypothetical match against one of The Undertaker’s former rivals — the late Giant Gonzalez.

“Giant Gonzalez, I almost feel like being in the same boat with him as I was with the giant Omos. It’s not very often that I have looked up to someone that’s bigger and possibly stronger. Possibly. Like I said, I haven’t met anyone that’s stronger than me yet, but there’s always somebody bigger and better. Gonzalez, he can get powerslammed just like the rest of them,” Strowman said.

Rhea Ripley

When asked about a potential match against WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, Strowman politely turned down the idea.

“She don’t want none of this. I’m a gentleman. I’m a southern gentleman. I was taught a long time ago that you open doors for women, and that’s it,” Strowman said.
