Arguably the current era of NXT holds some of the best wrestlers who have the potential to become the future face of the Stamford-based promotion. Another hunt to find the next future star of WWE began last night on the Black and Gold brand. It was the start of the NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament. One of the stars in the tournament Oba Femi had a message for the rest of the contestants and also claimed that the current roster is soft.
As mentioned above, the 2023 NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament began last night. Two of the eight contestants have qualified for the Semi-finals so far. The two that qualified are Riley Osborne and Oba Femi. Osborne was representing Chase University. He defeated Keanu Carver while Oba Femi defeated Myles Borne.
After picking up the victory last night, Oba Femi was interviewed by Sarah Schreiber. During the interview, Femi mentioned that the current rost is lacking in the brute force department. He also claimed that everyone has gone very soft and he is going to be the one bringing in the hard-hitting action.
“You see, NXT is lacking in one department severely. And that is the department of brute force. Nobody is brutal anymore. Everybody is soft. Everybody is determined. Everybody’s trying to get to the end by the soft means. But that is exactly what Oba Femi has to offer. That is exactly what I am bringing to the Men’s Breakout Tournament. Brute force,” Oba Femi said.
Another star who was supposed to compete in the tournament was Trey Bearhill. But he was attacked by Lexis King and was forced to step out of the tournament. King was the one replacing him with his match taking place next week.
Do you agree with Femi’s comments about NXT?
