Gunther is one of the top champions in WWE. He is currently the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion. Adding to this, he also holds the record for the longest-reigning WWE United Kingdom Champion. Recently, Hall of Famer Booker T claimed that fans would want to see the Ring General have a one-on-one match against Brock Lesnar.
As mentioned earlier, The Ring General holds multiple records in the Stamford-based promotion. Stars such as Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Chad Gable, Ricochet, Tommaso Ciampa, Bronson Reed, and The Miz have all been defeated by Gunther. The IMPERIUM Leader has a winning streak going on in title matches. If there is someone who knows all about ending streaks, it is the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar.
Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Booker T is convinced that Gunther and Lesnar should face each other. He opened up about this on his Hall of Fame podcast.
“Brock [vs.] GUNTHER, that’s a man’s man matchup right there. Anybody that loves this business and loves wrestling, they should want to see that matchup right there. That one right there is a main event anywhere in the world. It’s got to be close to the main event on night one [of WrestleMania] maybe … This is a big match, GUNTHER and Brock. That’s like two heavyweight boxers. You cannot undermine that match thinking that it’s not going to be the biggest thing on the card. It’s going to be the biggest thing people want to see. It’s not gonna be like any match on the card. There’s not gonna be [any] playing, no jumping, no diving. Oh my God, I can only imagine how that thing is going to turn out,” Booker T said.
