WWE and MLW have reached a settlement in their long-running antitrust lawsuit.
Per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, WWE and MLW have come to a settlement. Lawyers for both companies filed on December 11 and noted that the parties are in the process of completing the final settlement documents. They stated that the appropriate dismissal papers could be expected within the next 30 days.
Per Thurston, the judge has terminated the previously set deadlines regarding discovery and trial. The two companies must file a joint status report by Jan 18. If WWE and MLW file a stipulated dismissal by then, they will not have to have to go to court for a status conference on January 25.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that TKO will likely announce the terms in an SEC filing.
In January 2022, MLW filed a lawsuit against WWE, alleging that they interfered in the company’s negotiations for television and streaming deals. They also accused WWE of poaching talent. The lawsuit has changed since then, as it was dismissed in February 2023 before MLW filed an amendment. MLW has also claimed that Stephanie McMahon had interfered in the company landing a deal with Tubi, which is owned by FOX.
