Claudio Castagnoli References Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler In Promo After Latest Loss To Eddie Kingston

This past Saturday night on AEW Collision, the Continental Classic tournament continued. One of the major matches of the entire tournament was the fight between Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston.

The Swiss Superman had one victory and one loss in the tournament. Kingston on the other hand had lost in both his matches. This time around, The Mad King managed to pick up the win. Following the loss, Claudio Castagnoli cut a promo and while doing so referenced the late Bray Wyatt and former WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler.

“Where my head is at? Where is my head at? Alright, this thing a friend of mine said… If it’s not exactly the way he said it, excuse me. But he essentially said, ‘Wrestling is not a love story. It’s a fairytale for masochists.’ ‘What if the thing you love doesn’t necessarily love you back? What if you put every single ounce of you being into that one thing and somehow it just doesn’t turn out the way you think it should, the way you hope it should, the way you imagined it?’ Look at me. Look at where I’ve been, look at what I have done, look at every single time I step into that ring.”

Claudio Castagnoli is not like everybody else

In the same promo, the former ROH World Champion mentioned that he is not like anybody else.

“Don’t listen to my talk. I’m not like everybody else, telling you what I am going to do, how I am going to do it. And afterwards whinging about how it didn’t go my way. No. I let my actions do the talking. If you don’t believe me, look at my body of work. Find one time I am not in tip-top shape. That’s what I can control, that’s what I can do. Name one time you’ve seen me in that ring and you don’t think, ‘Wow.’ Yet here I am. One and Two. When I should be three and O. Do I make excuses? No. No. That’s fine. Just have to realize that something that doesn’t love you, you don’t necessarily have to love back. But you can still be really really really good at it,” Claudio Castagnoli said.

Claudio Castagnoli has one final message for Eddie Kingston

Having lost against Eddie Kingston for the second time in a row, Castagnoli wanted to send a message to the Mad King.

“Eddie, you may not even remember. But last time, remember you told me, when I left, I left potholes in the road. Yeah. You know what? You are right. Maybe I did. But who paved that road? Guess who made that road? Guess who was all by himself? Me. If you can’t leave at a few potholes, well then, you’re in for a rough life. You beat me the last two times. Good for you. Seems like you are learning. As for me, I have to learn as well. Maybe, just maybe, you have to kill the thing that you love in order to survive.”

Do you think the Swiss Superman can recover from back-to-back losses?
