Trick Williams finds himself in another huge match tonight with an opportunity to take his career to the next level.
WWE NXT Superstar Trick Williams recently sat down with Graham Matthews of Daily DDT. When asked about tonight’s Iron Survivor Challenge match at NXT Deadline, Williams expressed his excitement about being involved in the matchup.
“There’s a lot of muscle in this match,” Trick Williams said. “Usually, I’m the biggest guy, but I might be one of the lightest in there. I’m in there with some studs, man. Some great athletes, some guys with great experience. I’m excited to get in there and compete.”
William has been on quite the rise in NXT this year as a solo star. When asked what he attributed to that, Trick believes it all started with a conversation with Shawn Michaels in his office.
“I can honestly say that since I went to Shawn Michaels’ office and told him that I wanted to be the guy and show him what I could do on my own, it’s really taken off from there,” Trick Williams said. “Every single win and every loss has built me to where I am now.”

When asked if he was worried about what Michaels’ reaction would be to his request, Williams revealed what HBK said to him when he requested the opportunity.
“It was an experience, to be honest with you,” Trick Williams admitted. “I walked in his office with my mind made up. And he looked at me and said, ‘A lot of guys say this, but not a lot guys can or have delivered. Don’t ask for something you’re not ready for.’ He said it with a straight face, and he said, ‘We’ll see.’
“He gave me the opportunities, and I feel like, so far, things are going pretty well. But he’s a straight-shooter,” he continued. “He’ll tell you when you’re performing and when you’re not. It was one of those moments that I took a chance on myself, and he gave me a chance, and I’m grateful for that.”
