Charlotte Flair seemingly suffered an injury on WWE SmackDown.
On the December 8 episode of WWE SmackDown, former champions Charlotte Flair and Asuka faced off in a singles match. At one point, something had clearly gone wrong, as Flair evidently suffered some kind of injury during a commercial. Bayley then caused a distraction, and Asuka rolled Flair up for the win.
Fans in attendance captured footage of Flair yelling, “My knee” to referee Charles Robinson following the apparent injury. Others shared clips of Flair getting helped to the back.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that, per sources, Flair slipped on the ropes and wrenched her knee during a commercial break. After the bout, Flair was walked to the back, and she is being evaluated by WWE medical officials. Further details are not known at this time.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) later confirmed that Flair’s injury is legitimate.
