The WWE United States Championship Tournament is underway.
On the December 8 episode of WWE SmackDown, Dragon Lee and Santos Escobar continued their rivalry when they clashed in a first-round bout. NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio came to the ring ahead of his match with Lee at NXT Deadline on Saturday.
His presence may have distracted Lee, as Escobar ultimately clinched the win with a Phantom Driver to advance to the semi-finals.
Later in the show, Bobby Lashley and Karrion Kross battled it out in a clash between two powerhouses. In the end, the former WWE Champion emerged victorious, as he floored Kross with a Spear and pinned him.
Escobar and Lashley will face each other in the semi-finals. The other side of the bracket will see Kevin Owens face Austin Theory and Grayson Waller battle an NXT superstar.
