Bryan Danielson Wanted Kenny Omega To Be In AEW Continental Classic

Bryan Danielson isn’t sure why Kenny Omega isn’t in the AEW Continental Classic.

The tournament is loaded with a number of top stars, but former World Champion Kenny Omega was not included in the lineup. Instead, he has not competed on AEW programming since AEW Full Gear.

In an interview with Mail Sport‘s Alex McCarthy, Bryan Danielson was asked about Kenny Omega’s absence from the AEW Continental Classic. He stated that he wanted Omega to be in it.

“I really wanted Kenny Omega in it and I don’t know,” Bryan Danielson said.” People think I do a lot more than I do. I don’t know what happened or why he’s not in the tournament.

“I know it was at least brought up to him and I don’t know if he didn’t want to do it or I know that he and Chris Jericho are the number one contenders for the Tag Team Championship. So maybe that’s why, you know. Sometimes, you know, with American TV wrestling, you don’t want to confuse stories, and maybe that’s why.

“But I love the field that we have, [because] we have so many like great hard-hitting wrestlers. The matches have been really, really good so far in the Continental Classic.”

WrestleZone will have coverage of the AEW Continental Classic as it continues.

Fans will be able to see Kenny Omega in action on the December 9 episode of AEW Collision, as he will face Ethan Page. WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs.
