Athena has no plans of missing her next scheduled title defense.
The ROH Women’s World Champion posted the following on Twitter, revealing that she broke her nose during AEW’s recent television tapings in Canada:
“Yeah just got the x-ray results… it’s broken… I’m still gonna whoop her ass at #FinalBattle though! #ForeverROHChamp”
Update: Athena has deleted the original tweet about her status, and we will update the article once more information is learned.
She appeared on the Battleground podcast and confirmed her injury during the show.
“It’s a very weird thing. I’ve already started losing sleep a little bit. Maybe that’s just because my nose is broken. I know I don’t look it because I’m that damn fabulous, and a wizard with makeup and on-screen touch-ups. These calls, thank you for that touch-up appearance button. Magical. But yeah, my nose is broken right now,” Athena said.
Athena is scheduled to defend her title against Billie Starkz at Final Battle. The two will be in the main event match of the pay-per-view event.
The self-proclaimed “Forever ROH Champ” competed against Rose in a ROH Women’s World Title Proving Ground match at Tuesday’s ROH television tapings in Montreal, Québec, Canada. It is unclear when the injury took place during the match.
