Shawn Michaels has nothing but great things to say about recently released NXT talent McKenzie Mitchell.
WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels recently took part in a Media Call for NXT Deadline. When asked about the recent release of backstage interviewer McKenzie Mitchell, Michaels said the release took him by surprise.
“Look, just McKenzie is always going to be part of the NXT family, and I mean that sincerely,” Shawn Michaels said. “Look, it was something that obviously took me by surprise as well. My understanding is there are just some areas where we have overlapping jobs. And there were going to be changes.
“There are a lot of things that go on within this company that are way above me. And so this obviously was one of them, but we hope, like we always say here, I will say the door is always open here in the WWE. I think, in my opinion, McKenzie will always be part of the NXT family, and that doesn’t mean that we can’t revisit that relationship somewhere down the road, good Lord willing.
“But obviously, it’s a loss to us in NXT, but the machine, as always, has to continue to roll on. And we will obviously do that. And obviously, we will miss her greatly because everybody absolutely loves and adores McKenzie.”
