Is Excalibur the Jim Ross of the AEW Dynamite commentary team?
Last night on AEW Dynamite, during a picture-in-picture commercial break, Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone had a hilarious exchange about Paul Turner’s leniency as a referee during the match between Jon Moxley and RUSH. It resulted in Excalibur realizing he’s the Jim Ross of AEW Dynamite. Something that Taz and Schiavone both found to be hysterical.
Excalibur: Paul Turner has been lenient. I will say very lenient.
Taz: And I give Paul credit for that. I give the referee, Paul Turner, credit for that. I think it’s okay to do that. That’s just my viewpoint.
Tony Schiavone: I always think the referee should be lenient anyway; I don’t think people want to see countouts. I think they want to see it happen in the ring. So I’m always in favor of that.
Excalibur: I guess I just turned into the Jim Ross of the broadcast.
Taz: Wow, well said.
Tony Schiavone: Give me a good Gawd, go ahead. Let’s hear it.
Excalibur: I won’t do it.
*Laughter*
Tony Schiavone: Give us a chance to respond, my God!
*Taz laughs*
Excalibur: I’m just thinking about the hitmen that are going to show up to my house that JR is going to commission, but… *in Jim Ross’ voice* I need a Coke.
