Marty Jannetty has an… interesting Stan Hansen story.
Jannetty was a guest on the 1 Of A Kind podcast with Rob Van Dam and Dominic DeAngelo. During the show, Jannetty was talking about wrestling in Japan and he decided to share a colorful story about his sexual escapades.
“I’ve got to tell you a Stan Hansen story if y’all don’t mind. [Stan Hansen and Ted DiBiase] were buddies from Mid-South or something, they’d been together [as a tag team],” Jannetty explained. “In Japan, it’s different with taking a girl back to your room than in America, at least back then. When I got there, it was impossible almost, to take a girl back to the room. And they called us ‘gaijins.’ No gaijins.”
RVD jokingly told Jannetty not to say anything incriminating, and Jannetty said that’s the only part of the story he would tell. Jannetty then said he and Tim Horner linked up with a couple of girls, and DiBiase and Hansen warned them about going through the hotel lobby with the women. They worked up a plan to sneak the girls through another back entrance.
“And they said, ‘But — open the window and let us watch.’ [laughs] Which I didn’t have a problem with. I’m like, ‘Alright…’ And Tim had the room next to me, it was the first floor,” Jannetty explained. “They were out there, it’s the first floor, and all you do it get on a ledge. You’re like a thief, sidewinding around until you get to the room. I forgot they wanted me to open the window, so I’m accidentally on top of her, I’m doing what we do…”
“What were you doing?” deadpans RVD.
“My hips kept moving,” replied Jannetty.
‘God dammit, Jerretty!”
Jannetty said he kept hearing a repeated tapping noise. He realized he had to open the curtains. Jannetty then told RVD’s wife, Katie Forbes, that she might not want to hear this part, and proceeded to tell everyone about how it’s hard to maintain an erection when he’s been drinking.
“I went over — I had to be discrete about it because we didn’t want her to know what was going on. So I go crack the curtain a little bit. I walk off and they’re tapping, going, ‘Open the window! We can’t hear!’ So now I’m going to open the window,” Jannetty explained, “and they’re on the ledge, [shows how narrow it was with his hands]. It wasn’t that high off of the ground, but the window opened outward [Jannetty is describing a casement-style window] and I didn’t know that.
“So I’m fucking with the window and finally it pushed outwards. Stan Hansen falls six feet down into a bush, Ted fell off to the side,” he explained. “I hear Stan yells — he called me Jerretty — ‘God dammit, Jerretty! I think you broke my back!’ He’s upside down in the bush, he looked like a damn roly poly trying to get over to his front.
