Tony Khan has decided to bring in a brand new championship to All Elite Wrestling. It is the Continental Title. In order to crown the inaugural champion, a tournament is in progress. One of the contestants in the tournament is Brody King. Recently, Excalibur had nothing but praise for the House of Black member.
King has competed in two matches in the tournament. His first match was against the current NJPW Strong Openweight and ROH World Champion Eddie Kingston. The other is former ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli. Brody King has defeated both wrestlers.
Upon seeing him picking up two victories back-to-back, AEW commentator Excalibur claimed that King had proven himself and is currently is in the lead.
“Six points are six points, but @Brodyxking knocked off Kingston and Claudio, prohibitive #ContinentalClassic favorites, and I’d argue has a nonempirical lead on the entire field. #AEWCollision,” Excalibur tweeted.
Brody King claims he might be the best technical wrestler in the AEW Continental Classic Tournament
After defeating the Mad King Eddie Kingston, Brody King had some praise for his opponent and then went on to claim that he is the best technical wrestler in the tournament.
“On any given day, it could have been Eddie. He’s one tough son of a bitch. It seems like the first person in this tournament was one of my biggest hurdles. New Japan STRONG Champion, Ring of Honor Champion. The Ring of Honor Title is that one title that has slipped through my fingers every time. Of course, tonight, the one time I hear the champion, the title’s not even on the line. Well, I got one thing to say.
“I might not be the best technical wrestler in this tournament. I might not be the best sports entertainer. But I can tell you one thing. I’m the meanest bastard in this tournament, and if you don’t bring as it as hard as Eddie, then you don’t deserve to be in then you don’t deserve to be in it either. Because this tournament is supposed to be hard. Because life is hard. So be harder,” Brody King said.
