Claudio Castagnoli was asked about WWE stars he’d like to see in AEW, and the conversation led the AEW star to share his thoughts on his former tag team partner.
Sheamus and Claudio Castagnoli, collectively known as The Bar, disbanded their team in 2019, but they have remained friends. Castagnoli signed with AEW in 2022, and he has been featured with the company ever since.
Speaking with WrestleTalk, Castagnoli was asked if he’d like to see anyone, like his former fellow WWE superstar Sheamus, make the jump to AEW. Castagnoli jokingly groaned at the thought, and then praised his friend, before noting that he just wants any wrestler to do what’s best for them.
“I love him. I love Sheamus,” Castagnoli said. “He’s awesome. Any company that has him has a tremendous asset. He’s just an absolute workhorse. One of the hardest workers in and outside the ring that I know. Absolute maniac in the best sense of the word. So I think it’s always, whatever is best for my friends, for them. It’s also just fun to see what will happen. But yeah, love Sheamus.”

As previously reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select), Sheamus’ WWE contract is set to expire in 2024.
Sheamus has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since August. It is not known when he will return to the ring.
