AEW Dynamite Results (11/29): Continental Classic Continues, TBS Title Match, More

All Elite Wrestling presented a star-studded show with the November 29 episode of AEW Dynamite. In the main event, Swerve Strickland faced Jay White.

Two Continental Classic Matches On AEW Dynamite

AEW Continental Classic Gold League Match: Jon Moxley vs. Jay Lethal

Moxley and Lethal feel each other out early on. They trade blows. Lethal catches Moxley in the Figure-Four, and both men roll out of the ring. They brawl at ringside. Lethal dives onto Moxley and taunts the crowd. Moxley dodges a dive and hits one of his own. Lethal targets Moxley’s knee and gains the upper hand. Moxley and Lethal trade shots. Moxley counters the Lethal Injection. Lethal wrenches Moxley’s leg and gets a two-count with an elbow drop. Lethal knocks Moxley to the outside and sends him into the apron.

At ringside, Lethal continues to target Moxley’s leg. He gets him back in the ring and relentlessly attacks the leg. Lethal hits a Dragon Screw off the ropes. Moxley rallies with a clothesline. Lethal gains the upper hand again. Moxley sends Lethal into the ring post. He locks in a chokehold, but Lethal escapes and traps him in the Figure-Four. Moxley reaches the ropes. He drops Lethal with the Paradigm Shift and levels him with a lariat. Moxley hits a piledriver for a two-count. Moxley traps Lethal in a choke, and he taps out.

Winner: Jon Moxley

In a video promo, Eddie Kingston commented on his loss to Brody King and vowed to be ready for Bryan Danielson.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone announces that AEW Revolution will be on Sunday, March 3. He says it will be at the Greensboro Coliseum, which will be a fitting place for Sting’s last match. Sting shares his thoughts on the news. Ric Flair also comments on the news; he says Sting made himself when they had their classic match in Greensboro. Flair says he will be going back to Greensboro for the special moment, and he is honored to be at Sting’s side.

AEW Continental Classic Gold League Match: RUSH vs. Mark Briscoe

RUSH takes the fight to Mark Briscoe. They trade blows. RUSH takes control. Briscoe knocks RUSH to the outside. They exchange chops. RUSH slams Briscoe into the barricade. Mark hits a diving elbow off the apron. Back in the ring, RUSH drops Mark with a German suplex. Mark fires back with a lariat. Mark drops RUSH with a shot to the face. RUSH grounds Briscoe. They keep battling. RUSH suplexes Briscoe. Briscoe gets a two-count with a Spear.

Briscoe hits the Froggy Bow for a two-count. RUSH evades the Jay Driller. He nails Briscoe with an elbow to the face and hits the Bull’s Horns. RUSH pins Briscoe for the win.

Winner: RUSH

AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm is interviewed, and she says they partied hard, and one of the Kennedys was there. RJ City tells Storm she will defend the title next week, and she says she’s not worried.

MJF Addresses Samoa Joe On AEW Dynamite

In-Ring Segment: AEW World Champion MJF

MJF comes to the ring, with a cane, and discusses his title match against Samoa Joe at AEW Worlds End. He says he may not like Samoa Joe, but he respects him. MJF name-drops TNA and WWE as he highlights Samoa Joe’s career. He thanks Joe as he states that “The Samoan Submission Machine” proved that alternatives matter, and he helped paved the road for AEW. MJF says he isn’t too shabby, as he has helped AEW brick by brick. He name-drops CM Punk and Cody Rhodes as he details his rise to the top.

MJF says his match against Samoa Joe at AEW Worlds End is about his legacy, as he will be up against the final boss again. MJF says he doesn’t care if his knee slides in and out, or if his shoulder is hanging on by a thread.

He promises to show the world that it’s not about the size of the dog. Instead, it’s about the size of the fight in the dog, and Joe will have to put him down to take the title.

The lights go out, and the lights flicker. Masked men surround the ring, but Samoa Joe makes the save. The lights go out. On the screen, a typed message says, “In the shadows, our games begin.” The message asks MJF and Samoa Joe if they will face the unknown next week.

MJF says he is tired of the “Scooby-Doo bullsh*t” and vows to unmask The Devil. He says that if they want a tag team match, they’re on.

Wardlow vs. AR Fox

Fox dives onto Wardlow during his entrance and takes the fight to him. Wardlow overpowers Fox and throws him across the ring. Fox hits the 450 Splash for a one-count. Wardlow levels Fox with a lariat and powerbombs him. He hits another powerbomb. Wardlow hits a Swanton Bomb and drops him with another powerbomb. The referee calls for the bell.

Winner via stoppage: Wardlow

The broadcast team highlights Dante Martin, who has been out of action since March.

Dante Martin, Darius Martin & Action Andretti vs. The Hardys (Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy) & Brother Zay

The Hardys and Zay gain an early advantage. Andretti briefly squares off with Jeff Hardy. Darius and Zay tag in and trade fast-paced offense. Top Flight and Andretti gain the upper hand. Zay backs Andretti back into the corner. Jeff Hardy grounds Andretti. Zay stomps Andretti at ringside. The Hardys and Zay maintain the advantage, and they continue to isolate Andretti. Matt drops Andretti with a Side Effect.

Dante Martin tags in and clears house with a flurry of offense. Zay shoves Dante into Darius and drops Dante with a clothesline. Jeff and Matt double-team Dante. They put Dante on their shoulders, and Zay hits a springboard dropkick. Darius drops Jeff with a forearm at clothesline. Zay and Martin keep battling in the ring. Dante slams Zay for the win.

Winners: Dante Martin, Darius Martin & Action Andretti

Backstage, Penta El Zero interrupts an interview with Top Flight and Action Andretti. He brings over El Hijo del Vikingo and Komander, setting up a trios match.

TBS Championship: Julia Hart (c) vs. Emi Sakura

Hart showcases her athleticism with a cartwheel and takes control. Sakura chops her. Sakura hits a crossbody while Hart is seated in front of the steps. Back in the ring, Sakura continues to control the action as she grounds Hart. Sakura drops Hart with a back-breaker.

Hart locks in a sleeper hold. She traps Sakura in a headscissors. Hart locks in the Hartless. Per the stipulation, the match can’t be won via submission. Hart stomps Sakura and hits a moonsault for the win.

In an interview, Mariah May says she’s dying to show everyone what she can do. She thanks RJ City for connecting her with Toni Storm. Mariah walks into Tony Khan’s office.

Christian Cage Responds To Adam Copeland On AEW Dynamite

In-Ring Segment: TNT Champion Christian Cage

Christian Cage comes to the ring, and he has a security detail with him. He calls out Adam Copeland. Copeland doesn’t come out, and Cage again asks him to come to the ring. Eventually, Copeland comes out. Cage hides behind the security guards. Christian asks the security guards to leave, and he tells Copeland he’s sorry. He says he went on a road trip of soul-searching and trying to figure out how he became the person he is today,

Cage recalls some of the memories he and Copeland made together. He says they worked hard to get to this point, and they made it. He highlights their friendship and describes how they’re brothers. Cage tells Copeland he loves him. He brings up Copeland’s mom passing away and says she wanted them to team up one more team. Cage says they should team up together because that’s what Copeland’s mom wanted. He goes for a cheap shot, but Copeland kicks him below the belt.

Copeland tells Cage that the TNT Championship is coming home with him and tells him to go “f*ck himself.”

AEW Continental Classic: Swerve Strickland vs. Jay White

The match quickly spills out of the ring. Swerve briefly gains the advantage. White slams him into the barricade. White gets Strickland back in the ring and grounds him. They head back to the outside. Strickland takes control. White chops him. Strickland fires back with a chop and drops White with a backbreaker. White dumps Strickland over the ropes and suplexes him onto the apron. White slams Strickland into the corner. Swerve counters a chop and hits a Hammerlock slam.

White and Strickland trade counters and catches White with a Flatiner. He hits a vertical suplex for a two-count. Both men are down after a discus lariat by Swerve. White takes Strickland to the mat and targets his elbow. Swerve snaps White’s arm. White goes for a low blow, and Swerve counters with a back-breaker. Strickland hits the House Call and the Swerve Stomp for a two-count. White drops Strickland with the Bladerunner, but Swerve rolls to the outside. White gets him back in the ring. They trade pin attempts. Swerve counters the Bladerunner.

Strickland and White keep trading shots. White dumps him with a sleeper suplex. Swerve counters the Bladerunner and stacks White up with a pin for the win.

Winner: Swerve Strickland
