MJF Claims He Has A Torn Labrum, Plans To Compete At AEW World’s End

MJF says he is dealing with an injury.

AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) reportedly got banged up at AEW Full Gear, where he retained the title against Jay White. The plan was for him to remain active on AEW television in a non-wrestling capacity so he could heal up for AEW Worlds End.

MJF took to social media on November 27 to state that he has a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The champion noted that he learned the news by getting an MRI. He stated that he will defend the AEW World Championship at AEW Worlds End on December 30. The self-proclaimed “General Talent” closed the message by saying that he believes in AEW.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed the injury.

Via Fightful Select, Sapp reported that MJF told people at AEW last week that he believed he had torn his shoulder. Per Sapp, he is expected to compete in his match against Samoa Joe at AEW Worlds End. The champion will be undergoing treatment as he hopes to avoid surgery. Additionally, the report notes that MJF injured his shoulder on the top rope Urinagi spot at AEW Full Gear.

Wrestleone will monitor the situation and provide more information as it becomes available.
