Rhea Ripley knows her fans.
WWE and Fanatics hosted a live auction before the 2023 Survivor Series Premium Live Event. WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, The Miz and Tyler Breeze took part in the auction. At one point in the stream, Ripley licked an index card that she autographed. The card was put up for auction, and the winning bid was $580.
Ripley commented on the segment, posting the following on Twitter:
“I know my fans,” Ripley wrote. “You’re welcome ?”
Stay true to yourself
Zoey Stark spoke with Women’s Wrestling Talk about her match against Ripley at Survivor Series. Stark couldn’t hide how excited she was to get in the ring with Ripley.
“Man, I’m so excited for Saturday,” Stark admitted. “It is, like you said, this is the biggest match of my career. This is everything that I’ve really been working towards. And like you said, I did have gold with IYO, but it’s been a couple years. Man, I need to get more gold around my waist. So, I’m excited. I’m ready for it.”
Stark also spoke about breaking stereotypes and changing the perception of women in the industry. She said it’s very important to stay true to yourself.
“You know, it can be very, very hard from time to time,” Stark said. “Let’s just say it’s like an NXT. So during the NXT 2.0 era, you know, you started seeing a big culture shift as far as who was getting on TV and what on, and then you start questioning like, man, do I need to kind of start doing certain things in order to get that big opportunity?
“You know, but it’s so important to stay true to yourself. Because if I was to do that, I wouldn’t be happy with who I am. You know, like, I’d be disappointed in myself. And if that works with other girls. Great. Do what you need to do. You know, I’m not throwing any shade. It’s just for me, personally; this is all I’ve ever wanted to do.
“And I wanted to make a change in wrestling in general that women don’t have to do certain things in order to get there. You know, just be a badass, be athletic, show your personality, and the hard work will prevail at some point. So, it can be very, very difficult to keep your head straight, but when you have people around you who remind you, it makes it easier.”
