Gunther is looking forward to stepping into the ring with The Miz this weekend at WWE Survivor Series in Chicago.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther recently sat down with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. When asked about his upcoming title defense against The Miz, Gunther said he’s looking forward to the opportunity.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to being in the ring with one of the top stars of the past 10 years,” Gunther said. “I’m looking forward to proving myself against him.”
When asked why he was excited about the match, Gunther called The Miz one of the most decorated wrestlers to ever come through the WWE system.
“I’m not a typical WWE guy,” Gunther said. “I established and developed myself far away from WWE. Miz is different. He went through the WWE system, and he’s living proof of how effective the system is. He’s one of the most decorated wrestlers they’ve ever had. So it will be a clash of styles.”
