Cody Rhodes Is Glad He Actually ‘Walked’ With His Infamous Independent List

There are several wrestlers who have not been able to succeed in a major way once they have been released from WWE. But then again there are a handful of stars who become the most popular stars outside WWE that the Stamford-based promotion re-hires them.

One such star is Cody Rhodes. He had secured his release from WWE a few years ago. Then, he went on to become the top champion in multiple promotions. Rhodes also helped start AEW. Now, the American Nightmare is back in WWE.

Recently, The American Nightmare reflected on a list that he had released back in the day when he was working in the Independent Circuit. The list had a bunch of names whom Cody Rhodes would love to wrestle. Some of the names include Adam Cole, former ROH World Champion Dalton Castle, former IMPACT Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion Moose, The Young Bucks, popular Japanese star Shibata, wrestling legend Pat Buck, and many more.

The ES Wrestling’s Twitter account shared the picture with Rhodes’ list and claimed that the particular picture had changed the Independent Wrestling scene.

“@CodyRhodes sharing this pic really changed independent wrestling. Agree? #CodyRhodes#independent#wrestling,” ES Wrestling tweeted.

Upon seeing the tweet, The American Nightmare replied by mentioning that initially for him it was just a list. But the said list motivated him to achieve a lot of goals and also helped him gain a lot of good friends along the way. The list also inspired other talents as well.

“It was just a list at first – but with it I’m very glad we actually walked and not just talked And I remain very lucky so many good folks followed along,” Cody Rhodes tweeted.

Do you think Cody Rhodes achieved the most success after being released from WWE?
