Nick Wayne says being in the ring with legends like Sting and Adam Copeland blows his mind.
Nick Wayne has been featured on AEW programming in recent months. The 18-year-old has aligned with Christian Cage as part of his feud with Darby Allin and Adam Copeland. Wayne, Cage, and Luchasaurus will face Copeland, Allin, and Sting at AEW Full Gear.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Nick Wayne was asked whether he has had a “how did I get here moment” while working with legends and major stars in AEW.
“It is very how did I get here moment just about every week for me to be real,” Nick Wayne said. “I think the first time was either WrestleDream when I had the turn or the previous week when we did the segment. Just standing up on the stage next to Christian and then looking down the ramp and into the ring at Sting and Adam Copeland, I was like, ‘There’s no way I’m standing here right now at 18 with these people.’
“Especially with Sting being on the back end of his career right now with his retirement coming up in February, knowing that I will be one of his final matches and one of his last pay-per-view matches at 18 just blows my mind when I sit there, and I think about it. I couldn’t be more grateful for an opportunity like this at such a young age.”
