Kenny Omega On Teaming Against The Young Bucks Again: I Guess It’s The Spirit Of Competition

Kenny Omega will stand across the ring from The Young Bucks once again this weekend at AEW Full Gear.

All Elite Wrestling‘s Kenny Omega recently sat down with Chris Mueller of Bleacher Report. When asked about competing against his friends Matt and Nick Jackson, Omega said this seems to happen anytime he gets mixed up in a tag team.

“I find that anytime I get mixed up in a tag team, somewhere down the line, I end up fighting The Young Bucks,” Kenny Omega said. “Sometimes there are the deepest of meanings, and other times it’s just ‘Hey, let’s find out who’s better.’

“I guess it’s the spirit of competition. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I want to prove myself as one of the best in-ring performers of our time, and that can’t just be limited to singles matches. I want to be a jack of all trades.”

When asked about The Golden Jets’ name, Omega said that it was Jericho’s idea and something he’s been wanting to do for quite some time.

“That was Chris,” Kenny Omega said. “He’s been kind of joking around about that name for quite a while. It’s got a little bit of a ring to it. And here we are, years and years and years later, and it’s actually become a thing.”
