WWE Backlash is going international.
WWE announced the 2024 Backlash Premium Live Event will take place at the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Decines, France. The event will take place on Saturday, May 4. This is the first-ever WWE Premium Live Event to take place in France.
This is the third Backlash event to take place outside of the continental United States. Backlash 2004 took place at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The 2023 event took place in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
In addition to the Backlash PLE, WWE SmackDown will also emanate from the LDLC Arena on Friday, May 3, 2024. This will be the first time SmackDown will take place in France.

Other artists set to hold major events at the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Decines, France, in the coming months include Sting, Jonas Brothers and Green Day. The news also follows the announcement of Bash In Berlin taking place at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany, on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
Backlash 2023, held earlier this year at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico, became WWE’s highest-grossing and most-viewed Backlash in company history.
