Cody Rhodes will have a better idea of how to feel about WrestleMania 39 once he reaches his final destination.
Busted Open Radio welcomed Cody Rhodes on Monday, where Mark Henry shared his thoughts on Cody’s journey in WWE.
“Cody, I hope in your heart of hearts, you believe losing at WrestleMania was the best thing that ever happened,” Henry told Rhodes.
Henry said that losing to Roman Reigns, and Cody’s feud with Brock Lesnar gave him an edge. He also said Cody is undeniable. Henry wouldn’t go as far as saying he is his father’s equal until he wins at WrestleMania. However, Henry said that being able to be an icon in a profession with tons of stars and knowing he’ll be a first ballot Hall Of Famer has to feel good.
“That could be the most arduous path”
“I want to run through a brick wall in hearing you say that, in terms of that will light a fire. I’m being honest in the sense that I don’t know how to feel about WrestleMania 39 until I get where I’d like to get. And you know this more than anybody, it’s a long road to get back. It’s a long road — I’ve been saying, and sometimes you can catch me when I’m out there on RAW or at SummerSlam, I’ve been saying, ‘We’re on our way. We’re on our way.’ I even went as far as when people think it’s somebody else, [I say] ‘It’s always been me.’ But the truth is those are just words.
“WrestleMania season, Royal Rumble season, WarGames ahead of us, that could be the hard times right htere. That could be the most arduous path I’ve been on, so I focused on it — I appreciate your perspective of looking outside in on me — I focused on it show to show. Show to show, and looking at a model of are we improving every outing, are they more into it every outing and that’s been my goal. But I very much appreciate you saying that.”
