Asuka swerved us all.
The main event of WWE SmackDown on November 10 saw Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, and Asuka join forces to take on Damage CTRL’s Bayley, IYO SKY, and Kairi Sane following a promo segment that occurred earlier in the night.
When Belair attempted to make the hot tag to Asuka, Asuka pulled away her hand and misted Belair in the face. Asuka then kicked Belair in the head and proceeded to help Damage CTRL beat down Belair, Flair, and Shotzi who ran down to try and make the save.
While not yet confirmed, this lays the groundwork for a potential WarGames match pitting Asuka, Bayley, SKY, and Sane versus Belair, Flair, Shotzi, and a partner to be named.
Asuka has largely stayed away from the babyface role this year after returning at the Royal Rumble. She went on to win an Elimination Chamber match and challenged Belair for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39. Asuka eventually dethroned Belair at Night of Champions and held the title until SummerSlam.
