Piper Niven Reveals The Real Reason Behind Her Last Name

WWE has a handful of wrestlers who are not a native of the United States of America. One such star is Scottish star Piper Niven. She was formerly known as Doudrop. Niven recently revealed the real reason behind her ring name.

Things seemed a little bleak for the Scottish-born wrestler when she was competing under the name Doudrop. Once Triple H took full control of creative, he repackaged Doudrop and brought back her original gimmick, Piper Niven. Niven’s been a heel since ditching the Doudrop monicker. Now, she is one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions along with ‘The Hot Mess’ Chelsea Green.

The Green is still trying to gain Niven’s trust and to be considered a friend, their chemistry inside the squared circle seems to be working very well as they have successfully defended their titles on numerous occasions.

Recently, a fan took to Twitter to ask the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion the origin of her name and wanted to know the reason behind why she chose ‘Niven’ as her last name.

“@PiperNivenWWE I obviously get where the Piper name comes from but what about the name Niven? If you don’t want to answer, I’m not ”one of those people “ that demands answers from people. ?,” A fan tweeted.

Piper Niven replied by stating that it’s the name of her Step Dad’s.

“It’s my Dads (stepdad but he raised me so I consider him my real dad) name, it’s usually passed down through the family as a middle name so I decided to take it on as my stage name to keep it going. It’s a very old name that means little saint ?,” Piper Niven tweeted.
