Tetsuya Naito Undergoes Successful Eye Surgery

Tetsuya Naito is recovering from surgery.

Naito had surgery on his right eye on November 7. The procedure marked the third time he has undergone surgery for the upper oblique muscle paralysis in his right eye, which has been affecting him since 2019.

Speaking with Tokyo Sports (h/t POST Wrestling for the transcription), Naito, who has been discharged from the hospital, shared an update.

“I’ve removed the eye patch now, and it looks normal,” Tetsuya Naito said. “I had gotten used to the situation where my right eyeball was slightly misaligned… With time, I will get used to this situation, so I think it will get better.”

It is unclear how long the recovery will take. Naito noted that he will have two weeks of rest following the procedure, and he wants to compete again as soon as possible.

“I don’t want to take too much time off, and it’s sad and frustrating not to have my name on the card,” he said. “I want to get back to wrestling as soon as possible.”

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
