Powerhouse Hobbs: Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match Win Meant AEW Has Faith In Me

Powerhouse Hobbs had a star-making performance in the Face of the Revolution ladder match earlier this year.

All Elite Wrestling‘s Powerhouse Hobbs was a recent guest on In The Kliq. When asked what winning the Face of the Revolution ladder match in front of his hometown crowd meant to him, Hobbs said the company having the faith to put him in that position meant a lot.

“It meant that I’m here,” Powerhouse Hobbs said. “That the company has faith in me. I’ve said it to my to myself hundreds of times that this is what I was meant to do. You know, with Tony Khan and AEW putting their trust in me to be the Face of the Revolution ladder match meant a whole lot. Especially I got to do it in front of my people. You know, the bay. It made it so much more special.”

Big man on a ladder above all

When the finish of the match was brought up, where Hobbs had to stand on the top of the ladder to grab the ring, Hobbs admitted he was worried about doing that, but luckily, everything went okay.

“You were worried? How do you think I felt? Because I looked at that ladder, and I’m on the last rung, and I’m a big dude, and I still couldn’t reach,” Powerhouse Hobbs said. “And I have to stand on the part that says do not stand.

“Two hundred seventy pounds standing on top of a ladder where it says do not stand like ten times out of ten things aren’t going to work out well. But somebody was with me. And I grabbed that ring and was able to get down safely.”
