Carmelo Hayes Breaks Silence After Tough Loss At WWE NXT Halloween Havoc

Last night on WWE NXT, was the culmination of the special two-night event, Halloween Havoc. The night featured three title matches, the finals of the NXT Women’s Breakout tournament, and many more. The main event of the night was the NXT Championship match between the challenger Carmelo Hayes and champion Ilja Dragunov.

This was the third time the self-proclaimed ‘A’ Champion and the Mad Dragon faced each other. The first time the two wrestled, Hayes managed to pick up the win. The second time, Dragunov defeated Hayes and as a result, became the new NXT Champion.

Two weeks ago, a fatal-four-way match was set between Baron Corbin, Bron Breakker, Carmerlo Hayes, and a last-minute addition of Trick Williams. But before the match could commence, Williams was taken out by a mystery person. As a result, he was taken to a local medical facility and could not compete. Hayes then went in to the match to wrestle in honor of his friend.

Hayes won and earned the opportunity to face Dragunov. Both Carmelo Hayes and The Mad Dragon put on a tough fight. Both stars were evenly matched. NXT Commentator Vic Joseph perfectly described the match as a hard-hitting affair. As Hayes was about to clinch the win, Trick Williams made a return. This caused a slight distraction and allowed Dragunov to capitalize and he won the match.

Following the tough loss, Hayes took to Twitter to claim that he has some bigger issues that need to be handled first.

“If I’m guilty for anything it’s showing TF out. Not champ tonight unfortunately, but bigger issues need to be handled.. #NXTHalloweeHavoc,” Carmelo Hayes tweeted.

Dragunov also tweeted following his win.

“Indestructible. Unbreakable. UN-BE-SIEG-BAR,” Ilja Dragunov tweeted.

Do you think Hayes attacked Trick Williams a couple of weeks ago?
