Ric Flair is ready for the journey that awaits.
Tony Khan teased giving Sting a “special gift” on the October 25 episode of AEW Dynamite. The gift ended up being a surprise appearance by one of Sting’s greatest rivals, Ric Flair.
Flair has since commented on his arrival in AEW, writing the following on Twitter:
“I’m Ready For This Journey In @AEW With My Dear Friend The Icon @Sting,” Flair wrote. “WOOOOO!”
It’s unclear how long Flair will be in AEW. If it’s up to Flair, he’ll be there until Sting hangs it up at AEW Revolution. During his in-ring promo, Flair told Sting that he would be honored to stick with Sting until the end.
“I’m saying this from the bottom of my heart, when I got an invitation from Tony, Mr. Khan, to come and be part of this… I want to be there until — is it March? Dammit, time flies, brother,” Flair said. “If you’ll have me, I want to ride in the wagon with you. I want to ride it out with you.”
Sting announced he would compete in his retirement match at AEW Revolution in March 2024.
